As of the 13th of March 2020 construction work has started in the ETpathfinder hall with tearing down a separation wall in the old printing hall.

This will open up the full size of the hall, i.e. a volume of 7000 cubic meters in the shape of a ‘box’ of 35m length, 25m width and 8m height in which the ETpathfinder cleanroom will be constructed over the coming year.

However, before that can happen, even more concrete will have to be taken out from the hall. In particular, the current floor will have to be removed, so that a super-stable new floor, sitting on 169 reinforced concrete piles and mechancially isolated from the walls and roof of the hall, can be installed.
